On May 20, 2020 a couple residing in Saint Landry County, Louisiana reportedly filed a Zantac breast cancer lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, styled Hilda A. Pickney and Joseph Pickney v. Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc.; Boehringer Ingelheim International GmbH; Boehringer Ingelheim USA Corporation, GlaxoSmithKline, LLC; GlaxoSmithKline, PLC; Pfizer Inc.; Sanofi US Services Inc.; Sanofi S.A.; Sanofi-Aventis US LLC; Chattem Inc. et al., Case No. 9:20-cv-80822 alleging, among other things, that the plaintiff took Zantac for over 3 years (from approximately February 2015 through April 2019) and was later diagnosed with breast cancer on May 20, 2019.
The Zantac breast cancer lawsuit reportedly alleges that based on prevailing scientific evidence, exposure to Zantac (and the attendant NDMA) can cause breast cancer in humans.
