A jury in Taney County, Missouri awarded the parents of a one year old child, who died from complications relating to Kawasaki disease, $3 million dollars in a wrongful death medical malpractice lawsuit. It was reportedly asserted that the child was brought to a CoxHealth facility due to paleness and lethary, was treated for an ear infection and released and died about three hours after being sent home from the urgent care clinic. The Branson Missouri wrongful death lawsuit reportedly asserted that CoxHealth employees failed to diagnose the child’s Kawasaki disease.
