Kratom Wrongful Death Lawsuit Filed In Oregon Seeking $10 Million in Damages
On March 12, 2024 it was reported that Mary Torres, the mother of a 39-year-old man from Oregon who died after using Kratom, was suing a Portland smoke shop known as the House of Pipes and certain Kratom product suppliers for wrongful death of her son Matthew.
According to reports, the decedent suffered a “violent seizure with convulsions and foaming at the mouth” after using a product called “Real Kratom” and that the Clackamas County Medical Examiner’s Office found that the decedent died from “toxic effects of mitragynine.” Mitragynine is a type of chemical called an indole-based alkaloid and is the main active compound found in the Southeast Asian plant Mitragyna speciosa (also known as kratom).
If you or a loved one were injured after using Kratom products, contact a personal injury lawyer or attorney to see if you may qualify for compensation from a Kratom lawsuit.
