A Florida man from Bradenton who filed a personal injury lawsuit against various defendants, including a truck driver and the truck’s owner Portugues Management Corporation, after allegedly suffering permanent injuries when a commercial truck (a Freightliner Cordi EMV) rear ended his vehicle west of I95 near Vero Beach Outlets while he was stopped at a traffic light, obtained a jury award of $3,040,285 after a four day trial in Indian River County.

Truck Accident Lawsuit Jury Awards Damages For Medical Expenses and Pain and Suffering

According to reports, the plaintiff in the truck accident lawsuit was awarded $190,285 for past medical expenses, $850,000 for future medical expenses, $400,000 for pain and suffering and $1.6 million for future damages.

The driver of the truck was reportedly accused of driving too fast for conditions, driving distracted and failing to apply brakes to avoid the collision.
