Jefferson County Alabama Resident Filed A Zantac Prostate Cancer Case Against Boehringer Ingelheim, Sanofi, Pfizer, and GlaxoSmithKline.

On March 11, 2020 a Jefferson County Alabama man reportedly filed a Zantac personal injury lawsuit case against certain drug manufacturers and/or drug distributors in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Alabama (Southern Division), styled Virgil Beck v. Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Sanofi US Services Inc., Pfizer, Inc., and GlaxoSmithKline, LLC, Case No. 2:20-cv-00328 (JHE), alleging, among other things, that he took Zantac (the antacid medication) for about twenty-six (26) years (from 1993 through 2019) and developed prostate cancer.

According to the Zantac lawsuit complaint, the plaintiff took about 150 mg of Zantac per day (or 800 mg of Zantac per week) and was diagnosed with prostate cancer in June 2018.  The suit asserts that the chemical NDMA (N-Nitrosodimethylamine) can cause prostate cancer in humans.

The complaint reportedly asserts that researchers observed increased risks for NDMA exposure for esophagus, oral cavity, pharynx, prostate, and brain cancer in an epidemiological cohort study looking at occupational exposure of workers in the rubber industry.

The Zantac prostate cancer lawsuit reportedly asserts causes of action for breach of implied warranties, breach of express warranties, negligence, failure to warn (strict liability) and design defect (strict liability).

The Zantac prostate cancer case reportedly seeks actual or compensatory damages, exemplary or punitive damages, pre- and post-judgment interest, and reasonable attorneys’ fees, costs, and litigation expenses.

Other Zantac cancer cases have been filed, including a kidney cancer case, stomach cancer case, pancreatic cancer case and a colon cancer case.

If you took Zantac and were diagnosed with prostate cancer, you may be able to seek compensation from a Zantac lawsuit.
