Tristar Power Pressure Cooker XL Users File Personal Injury Lawsuit Against Tristar After Allegedly Suffering Burn Injuries When The Lid Exploded From The Pressure Cooker Unit.

On June 22, 2021 a Liberty County, Texas couple reportedly filed a personal injury lawsuit against Tristar Products, Inc. in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, styled Laticia Thonsgaard and Jake Thongsgaard v. Tristar Products, Inc., Personal Injury Case No. 1:21-cv-00323, alleging, among other things, that Plaintiffs used a Tristar Power Pressure Cooker XL (model number PPC790) to prepare gumbo when the lid suddenly and without warning exploded from the unit, causing the heated contents of the Pressure Cooker (food items and liquid) to spew onto their chests, arms, and legs, resulting in severe burns which required medical treatment. The plaintiffs reportedly suffered severe injuries, including permanent scarring and skin discoloration.

The Tristar pressure cooker lawsuit reportedly asserts claims for negligence, strict liability, breach of express warranty, breach of implied warranty of merchantability, and breach of implied warranty of fitness for a particular purpose.

The pressure cooker lawsuit reportedly alleges that plaintiffs suffered injury and damages, including medical expenses, physical pain and mental anguish; disfigurement, physical impairment; and lost wages and loss of future earning capacity.
