A $1,800,000 personal injury settlement has been reached in an Illinois personal injury lawsuit brought against Metra resulting from a 2003 Metra Rock Island Line train derailment which allegedly caused a Plainfield, Illinois woman to suffer back pain and back injuries requiring lower back surgery, according to a Plainfield Illinois Metra personal injury lawsuit settlement news report.  The Illinois Metra train accident occurred on October 12, 2003 when the train passed a crossover near 48th Street on the South Side and derailed allegedly causing injuries to about 47 people.
