A Martin County Florida Jury Awards $40 Million to Father Of Man Killed In Drunk Driving Accident.
The family of a man who filed a Florida wrongful death lawsuit after he was reportedly hit and killed by a drunk driver in Palm City has been awarded $40 million dollars by a jury.
The wrongful death lawsuit reportedly alleged that the decedent’s Hyundai was rear-ended on Southwest Martin Downs Boulevard at the stoplight near Mapp Road in Palm City by the defendant’s Acura. After the accident, the defendant driver was reportedly convicted of DUI manslaughter and leaving the scene of a fatal accident and sentenced to 25 years in prison.
Father Recovers Award of $40 Million in Wrongful Death Lawsuit Involving Drunk Driver.
According to reports, the decedent’s father was awarded $30 million in compensatory damages and $10 million in punitive damages for his son’s death.
