Florida Zantac Bladder Cancer Lawsuit Case Filed in Federal Court.

Ft. Lauderdale, Broward County, Florida Resident Files Zantac Bladder Cancer Lawsuit Against Defendants Boehringer Ingelheim, Sanofi, Chattem, Pfizer, and GlaxoSmithKline.

On April 6, 2020 a man residing in Ft. Lauderdale, Broward County, Florida reportedly filed a personal injury lawsuit against the makers and distributors of the heartburn medication known as Zantac in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, styled David S. Sebag v. Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Sanofi US Services Inc., Chattem, Inc., Pfizer, Inc., and GlaxoSmithKline, LLC, Case No. 0:20-cv-60706 alleging, among other things, that he began taking Defendants Zantac in or around 1997 and continued to use Zantac through at least 2017 and allegedly suffered from bladder cancer after using Zantac.

According to the Zantac lawsuit complaint, Plaintiff was advised to use Zantac to relieve gastrointestinal conditions and symptoms such as acid indigestion, heartburn, and stomach pain.  According to the suit, in 2005 Plaintiff was diagnosed with noninvasive stage 1 bladder cancer and as a result was required to undergo numerous bladder surgeries between 2005 and 2017, followed by courses of chemotherapy treatments.

The Zantac cancer lawsuit reportedly brings causes of action for negligence, strict products liability, breach of express warranty, breach of implied warranties, fraudulent misrepresentation, fraudulent concealment, negligent misrepresentation, fraud and deceit, strict liability for failure to warn, and punitive damages.

The Zantac bladder cancer lawsuit complaint reportedly seeks an award of compensatory damages for past and future damages, for pain and suffering, health care costs, medical monitoring, interest, costs and reasonable attorney fees.
