Zantac Prostate Cancer Lawsuit Case Filed By New Hampshire Resident

Farmington, New Hampshire Resident Files Zantac Prostate Cancer Lawsuit Against Defendants Boehringer Ingelheim, Sanofi, & Chattem

On April 15, 2020 a man residing in Farmington, New Hampshire who was diagnosed with prostate cancer reportedly filed an action for personal injuries and economic damages against the makers and distributors of the heartburn drug Zantac in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, styled William Tsiros v. Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals, Inc., Sanofi US Services Inc., Chattem, Inc., Case No. 9:20-cv-80642 alleging, among other things, that he took Zantac OTC for approximately seven years and was thereafter diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2017.

The Zantac prostate cancer lawsuit reportedly brings a strict liability claim against Defendants for alleged defective design of Zantac and an alleged failure to exercise reasonable care to adequately warn of the increased cancer risk with Zantac use.  The personal injury suit also asserts causes of action for negligence breach of express warranty, breach of implied warranties, negligent misrepresentation and fraud, and punitive damages.

The Zantac prostate cancer lawsuit complaint reportedly seeks the following relief: economic and non-economic damages, special damages, and general damages, including pain and suffering, in an amount to be supported by the evidence at trial, actual or compensatory damages, disgorgement of profits, exemplary and punitive damages, reasonable attorneys’ fees, court costs, and other litigation expenses, prejudgment interest and post-judgment interest.
